How to Measure Your Wall for Custom Wallpaper
Accurate measurements make quoting and artwork setup much easier. Here’s what to measure, photograph and send before ordering custom wallpaper or a wall mural.
Measure twice. Avoid the “wait… how wide is that wall?” moment.
For an accurate custom wallpaper quote, start with the full width and full height of the wall you want to cover.
Whether it is a compact Durbanville powder room, a Cape Town office passage or a large hospitality wall in the Winelands, accurate wallpaper measurements are what allow the artwork to be scaled properly.
Then send us a photograph and point out anything unusual — windows, doors, corners, pipes, bulkheads, slopes or architectural features.
We have seen enough South African buildings to know that walls occasionally come with… personality.
These details help us understand how a custom wall mural should be cropped, scaled and planned for installation.
You do not need to calculate artwork bleed, panel setup or large-format print specifications yourself. Send us the measurements you have and the Smart Art team can guide you from there.
Once you have a design direction, try it in the Smart Art Visualiser too — seeing the wallpaper in your own room makes judging scale and colour much easier than imagining it from a thumbnail.
